Gynecology
Throughout a women’s life, she is likely to visit a gynecologist more often than any other physician. Some women even prefer their gynecologist to act as their primary care physician. Our board-certified gynecologists, as well as our urogynecologists deliver the most current medical expertise with compassionate, personalized attention. These dedicated physicians are committed to providing comprehensive health care services that cover the spectrum of your reproductive, menopausal and postmenopausal life. You will find personalized care with the respect, compassion and responsiveness you deserve at Lake Forest Hospital.
Our medical and surgical gynecology subspecialty covers the detection, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of all women’s health care concerns. Our services range from routine care, such as annual pap tests, birth control and menstrual cycle conditions to treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome, endometriosis, infertility, pelvic pain, incontinence, menopause, prolapse of pelvic organs and gynecologic inflammations and infections. We also treat sexually transmitted diseases.
When treatment is needed, our gynecologists employ medical or surgical therapies depending on the exact nature of the problem. Standard drug therapies, such as antibiotics, diuretics and antihypertensives may be used, as well as hormone-modulating therapies. If surgery is called for, we employ minimally invasive techniques, including laparoscopy, hysteroscopy and myomectomy.
We also have fellowship-trained urogynecologists on staff who provide consultation and comprehensive evaluation and diagnostic testing for women with complex pelvic floor conditions including urinary and fecal incontinence, pelvic prolapse, pelvic pain, constipation/irritable bowel syndrome, and more. Our urogynecologists have completed three additional years of specialized fellowship training in female pelvic medicine and pelvic reconstructive surgery. In the course of their practice, they also treat conditions such as painful intercourse/sexual dysfunction, voiding difficulties/urinary retention, recurrent urinary tract infections or symptoms, overactive bladder, interstitial cystitis and genitourinary fistulas.
We offer a variety of appointment times to best fit our patient's busy schedules. Please call to determine the best appointment time for you.
